R.H.D.R. - Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railway

The RHDR was opened in 1927 as "The World's Smallest Public Railway".
A mainline railway built for a millionaire racing driver in the 1920's with all locomotives and carriages just one third full size.
The railway runs from Hythe to Dymchurch, Jefferstone Lane, New Romney, Romney Sands and finally to Dungeness where it runs round a large loop, then heads back towards Hythe. The line itself is 15inch gauge and runs 13½ miles along the coastline. As a local railway to where I live, I enjoy supporting the railway and the events that it holds on an annual basis. Now run by volunteers and enthusiasts it is well worth a visit and if you live locally, love steam railways then becoming a member of the railway reaps huge financial savings, usually about 80%.
Example : Cost of a round trip ticket for non-members from Hythe to Dungeness is £8.90 - however as a member (Annual Membership is about £12.00) this will drop the cost to £2.30. This fare is fixed, and is valid for every journey you take all year the railway is open.
Below are some recent pictures of the railway and a link to the officail RHDR web site.
